Ok I have been wondering for some time now, who are the people that use this Fine Facility re Exploroz Forum, going by their Screen Names it has got me thinking, I won't go into detail about the names ect, but it's weird to think these people provide some good advice 90 percent of the time, and you don't know there Back Ground or Age and even Sex, some come across as though they are
in their 20's and probably they are mid to late sixties, and visa versa,
Up to now the Cook and I have only met one Member, (Mark G Gulmarrad and his family), we hope to meet more at the St George Gathering in September, even might be lucky enough to meet some visitors to the site as well, anyway I'll just have to wait a little bit longer, In the mean time, I'll just keep wandering / wondering who these people are in my computa that have similar interests as our selves, and don't mind a Drink or two, and a Sense Of Humour, and are not related to Harold Scruby, lol lol.

Cheers
Daza

I hope Jo, that he is receiving professional help to over come the trauma. ;)
Hey Daza, As you said it will be good to put faces to names. And yet there probably are some faces you wont want to see either, Mine being one of them. LOL
Looking forward to catching up with you and the Cook at St George.
Sorry I couldn't meet up with you guys when you were down this way last time.
To overcome the trauma of meeting Goldie, I would suggest a few more alcohol beverages each afternoon as the sun goes down. It works for me :))

Jo & Hairs,

I can thoroughly recommend keeping a couple of beers between yourself and Mark G at the first meeting.

It does tend to soften the blow!

Hey Daza,
There is another little bloke's web page you should look at who features quite often on EO, his name is Dusty. You can find him on Doug and Dusty's web page and he will tell you all about himself which is quite amazing considering.

Hi Daza

I agree about some of the names, I often wonder who is the person behind them as their profiles often don't reveal much, while others give some good detail.

I go by my real name (well Dick is short for Richard) and I am 75.

G'day Daza,

Sorry I won't be at St George so won't get a chance to meet you. This is my best Wilson photo (remember Tooltime?), I sometimes feel like I'm in my 20's and other times in my 80's but I'm just a spit from retiring at 54.

Hahahaha - not for me as I was born before the magic 1956! It certainly is confusing as the language used suggests the pension age but in the press they were suggesting retirement age. The two things are different now but will they be the same in 2023?

Kind regards

Hi Daza, I'm female and over the hill, I sign my correct name, I have no secrets as to who I am if anyone wants to know. I'm happy with my lot in life and wouldn't change it. Hubby and I have met quite a few EO members in our travels and also here in Perth. I must admit it is great to meet them in the real world.

Unfortunately we are not able to go to the gathering and looks like we will be missing out next year also with plans already in place for that time of the year.

Cheers

Hi Daza

Well I am Duncan and I am 50 but that only tells you how long I have been on the planet.

I have been told many times by many people to grow up but no one has yet come up with a compelling argument as to why.

I use the screen name Duncs because that is what a lot of people call me.

I got a bit worried some time ago when a Duncan W from WA became a member, I thought I must have moved but when I checked I hadn't. I am still here in NSW. Living in Sydney and missing the bush.

As for St George, I would love to be there but can't be sure yet. I will probably be the guy who arrives late in cloud of dust.

But seriously, I love this photo... I took one of it as it was stuck like so and when I realized that Trev would fit underneath it I had to get a photo of it for him... It is a great shot I think. Worthy to go to the Pool Room in my opinion.

The truck has a twin over this side of the country then. The one over here had a truck like wind deflector above the box directly behind the cab, it looked very similar to yours indeed.

See you in St George.

Your mechanic would be correct in thier assumptions, I CAN'T SEE!!!. The lights are there to let people see me and get out of my way hehehe.

I also drive HEAPS at night in plenty of wildlife corridors so this is extra insurance for me too.

Cheers, Trevor.

Hi Daza,

Bet you can't work out my name or were I live. Where I am at the moment typing this post is entirely different to were I live.

This week I've been raising the collective IQ of the North East and South East Islands as a favour to them. The buggers still appear to have an unhealthy attachment to sheep though?

I'm 49 going on about 16.

The greatest compliment ever paid to me was by my 18yo daughter when she said to me, "Dad you are so immature"

St George? Maybe, I'll be either there or Japan that week.

I am 57 and work( 7 days a week if the boss had his way)for a car rental Co.
Their is a pic of me standing in a hole next to darkie in Sir Kevs blog on the Pair of knees trip last Nov.
Have meet quite a few Explore oz people including Paul (Fiona @ Paul) last week at work and hope to meet many more.
Hoping to get to St geoge if we can all get Hols together.

Louie isn't my real name, and that's not really me on my avatar (you probably guessed, that didn't you?). Name's Stewart, Stew, Stewie, Stu, or Uncle Fester. There's a piccie of me on one of my blogs.

My grandma started calling me Louie the Fly when I was a tacker and it's stuck with me for 40 odd years. All my family call me Louie. So much so, I'd actually forgotten what my real name was for a while there.

Don't mind drink or two and I have sense of humour (not always to everyone's liking). Who's Harold Scrubby?

Cheers

Hi Daza,

To date I havent met any members however the other day we were packing up the van at a small campground in WA when a man came up and asked me whether I was 'the lady who writes the blog on ExplorOz'. He has been following our travels throughout the SW and recognised us from the pic of the navara with boat on top, on my profile. I was surprised to say the least!
He wasnt a member and said he just visits the site regularly as he is just starting out in camping trips.

I am 58 but unless I look in the mirror feel more like 28 since I gave up the red wine a couple of years ago. I loved it too much!!!The other half reckons this is a great move as I am the designated driver on all our outings. (previously his role for 34 or more years!) He also reckons I am to blame for the decline of the wine industry!

I am a keen bushwalker and amateur photographer, absolutely love the outback, the huge skies and bushcamping all by ourselves and never really want our trips to end. However this doesnt mean that I dont love to meet others in our travels.
We have met so many people this trip - for a night or two - and shared happy hour together, and had lots of laughs. Have been away for over 8 weeks so far.

I would love to be able to get to one of the EO gatherings but we wont be able to make it to St George this year. We have to be back in NSW by the end of August.

regards,
Heather

G'day Daza,
You may remember me from such posts as the "New travel camera", "Pics of the mtb world cup" and "The harbour bridge shot"
I have not had a chance to be on here for many a month with too many work commitments at the moment but am still lurking.
I am the one who helps build roads and is a closet photographer. Thinking about coming out in about 11 months.
And yes I too have a drinking problem............ The problem is I haven't worked out a way of claiming my cans on tax!!!!!!!
