Can anyone suggest a suitable insurer for camper trailers?? We have a just picked up our new camper and need to get it insured but am having trouble finding an insurer that will cover the canvas type. We have a
Tambo Offroad camper.

Try AAMI. We wrote ours off up NT it was under 12 months old. Showed them the incident aftermath with photos and we had a new one in no time. It was 10 years ago. Their rules may have changed.
Cheers

Hi Steve,
Will have a look at them. That premium doesnt sound too bad! We want to insure ours for about $13K.
Thanks again

There's a list of clued-up insurers at
http://www.campertrailers.org/ or the associated Yahoo group - can't remember which.
Be aware that they may treat an awing and an annexe differently.

AAMI have insured my canvas camper trailer for years.
Well, I think they have. I would have thought from the info and brand names I have given them it's obvious thatthey have been canvas camper trailers. I will investigate the small print further.

Just looked carefully at my AAMI policy. It clearly is for a camper trailer. I have had this policy on two different trailers for 20 years. Annual Premium $140.00

When I rang them they dont do the canvas ones anymore they told me for new policies being taken out even though our camper trailer is brand new and not an import. I think maybe the chinese imported camper tops can be thanked for this. That is the way it was explained to me and I have had all
my home and vehicle insurances with AAMI for years now as
well......

Just goin.
That's interesting. I have never discussed it with them. Maybe because it isn't a new policy, they continue to renew it.

I would say that is what it is. I have contacted NRMA and they do them no worries. I am just going to compare cost with RACV and see how things turn up.
Thanks to all for all your help and suggestions
Much Appreciated!!
