Thanks for that info mate.
Whats the go with getting to the falls? Where do i go to get on a tour of the falls? I dont know how deep the river is and i dont have a snorkle on the hilux. Do you still have to swim to get to the falls is has it all changed now? I'll be driving to
JIm JIm Falls, can i get on a tour or a lift from the
river crossing?

Hi long haired nomad,
I have just blogged in regards to the opening of
Twin Falls a few minutes ago:
http://kakadutours.net.au/twin-falls-gorge-and-escarpment-walk-open-today/
Sometimes people get lucky and catch a ride across from the Jim Jim
day use area (the
picnic area right at the
creek crossing) with other travellers -- I personally wouldn't count on it though (plus there's always the issue of how to get back later...).
You won't be able to join a tour from there (anyway, you shouldn't be, tour vehicles should only be carrying the passengers whose names are on the manifest).
Day tours to both,
Jim Jim Falls and
Twin Falls, leave from
Jabiru and Cooinda.
Cheers
Anja

Hi
If you are fit enough make sure you do the walk to the top of
Twin Falls, take lunch and leave early. There are some huge pools to swim in up there and NO crocs!
The crossing was about 800mm last year just after it opened.
Cheers Lyndon
