would like to let campers know about camping at
gordon country. a friend of
mine camped in
Gordon Country last week.
they enjoy
bush camping and wanted to
camp in a nice peacful place but were woken up at night because some idiot was shooting in
Gordon country and from the road. their kids were scared out of their wits and wouldn't sleep for the rest of the night, consequently they packed up the next morning and went
home not wanting to go through another night. is this a normal occurence- they let you
camp there and then start shooting around you?? they will never ever go back there again.

In all fairness to the property, did you approach the manager or owners and find out if they had let someone shoot on the property.

Any bullet holes in the tents ???
All that shooting was probably what stopped the feral pigs ripping the tents apart during the night.
If it was definitely "some idiot" ... the property owner should have been notified immediately so legal action could be taken.
Tell your mate to get used to the real world .... professional law abiding shooters are earning a living or culling ferals in rural areas ... if its too scary or he hasnt bothered to explain things properly to his kids ... then they probably should stay close to town and some streetlights.

Think I'll give
Warwick and surrounding campsites a big miss.

I have been visiting
Gordon Country since 1989 and have NEVER had one problem - certainly not with shooting.
I have been very concerned by the recent spate of postings with reference to the Goomburra Valley and some very unpleasant replies and postings. There are very good Managers at
Gordon Country and the owners live in the very near vicinity. I cannot believe that responsible people would not have reported this to the Managers or Owners - I also cannot believe that responsible parents would not have made sure their panic did not panic the children.
Sorry I believe this to be further garbage in someones ongoing stupid feud - keep it out of EO please, this is not the place.

Struth Ruth,
On ya, seems like a clash of cultures.
Of course if they were too close anyone would tell them to bugger off
Cheers
