type give it a name

The bit inside the "" marks must start with http:// and must be the full address of the site or page. An easy way to get this is to copy and paste it from your brower's address line. the >give it a namemy site - Ileft off the openningmy siteSmile, you're on ExplorOz

Boy, that really worked, eh?

Let's try again.

Type a href="http://domain.com/path">link text as shown in the instruction below.

The bit inside the "" marks must start with http:// and must be the full address of the site or page. An easy way to get this is to copy and paste it from your brower's address line. The give it a name part is optional but allows you put in something more meaningful/descriptive than the address may be, such as `my site'.

For example a href="http://exploreoz.com.au/forum">chatwould produce

chat

Images are exactly the same but must first exist somewhere on the web , i.e have their own web address.

You mean shares

reply to this, but before you do have a very close look at the instructions below the box "To Post Hyperlinks". You are missing the first 7 and last 4 characters/symbols. You also used Https:// rather than just http:// without the s. S stands for secure, and for some reason the link process doesn't seem to like it - not sure why as I'm no expert.

Also, when using Http:// you usually don't need to also include www. In the example, just use http://comsec.com etc You also don't require the last / unless the root .com.au has no content. You can test this by openning the page by entering the address without the last / If it open, then don't use the last / in the link when you try to post it.

Simple, huh?Smile, you're on ExplorOz

P.S. with photos, you need to have it loaded onto the web somewhere. Do you have a site you can load it to? If not, and its a once-off, email it to me and I'll load it and then give you the address to use in the link.Smile, you're on ExplorOz

Richard, BJ, if you provide your email addresses I'll send you the email email that I sent to Eric. It's easier to do off-line because everytime I try to post part of the instruction, the forum thinks I'm trying to post an erroneous link.Smile, you're on ExplorOz

photo sharing

this HP site is a handy place to put photos you want to show others - only catch is to remember to send Email to yourself for the correct Email address (gives you a guest login address which you can add to a message on this Forum)

NB
To post Hyperlinks -
Another Web forum I use has a 'popup box' where you enter the Web hyperlink and the title you want to give it - much easier for for those of us who are 'PC challenged'

another tip
keyboard shortcuts
keys "Ctrl" & "c" pushed together will copy highlighted items
keys "Ctrl" & "v" pushed together will paste copied itemsSubaru Forester
size isn't everything !
