Gday,
Has anyone been on the track from
Eringa Waterhole to Charlotte Waters via Abminga
ruins lately?
It saves about 60km, instead of going back to Mt Dare and around.
Any info on road conditions etc would be appreciated.
Cheers
Hairy

Not recently unfortunately. I travelled this track in 2005 and it was pretty rocky but OK with low tyre pressures. About the same quality as the Pedirka Track from
Hamilton homestead to
Dalhousie Springs. I know a lot can change in 4 years, but it is a commonly used station track so it does get some occasional maintenance.
Cheers

Hairy,
Last year about this time we went north from
Hamilton to Eringa on to Baminga then Charlotte Waters to Finke.
We had come up from
Oodnadatta and the road from
Hamilton did deteriorate but was still reasonable. What I called at the time "Station tracks". We towed our
Kimberley Karavan on our inaugural trip and didn't have any dramas. I don't have to tell you about speed and tyre pressures but there was nothing untoward about it. Nice bit of history ay Eringa being Sid K's first station and then at Abminga some old Ghan line
ruins. If you are interested there are Geocaches at both
places.

Hi Hairy
I havn't been that way recently, but some Finke locals went that way recently in a Commodore, then ran out of fuel at Charlotte Waters so it can't be too bad!!

They tried to get fuel off some tourists, but they didn't have any petrol, yet they still bypassed us & ran out at CW?
Must have been pretty keen to get back to Finke after the Oodna races.
