I'd like to know what people think are the best UHF radios around, in terms of price, features, reliability, service-ability, reception quality, etc. cheers

GME Electrophone, absolutley fantastic, outlasts other brands in a vehicle fit.

When comparing the Uniden and Electrophone, I found price, features and performance about the same. Settled for the Electrophone TX 3200 in the end because it was made in Oz. Still counts for something with me. Haven't regretted it - does everything I want.

We have had the GME tx3200 for 12 months with no problems. If you are in
Sydney Major communications at Narellan can fit you out at a good price. Cheers Di

In my experience, Unidens need servicing once a year to be useful. GME's are much more reliable. I had my 3 year old GME TX4200 tested and it was still putting out 5 watts and right on frequency. Kyle Communications in
Brisbane have the best prices I have found.
