I also have a Maytow jack as pictured, Tested it to be accurate enough for me.
certainly not perfect but close enough for it's purpose.

I notice that the Towing Load Indicator is only suitable for use on a ball coupling and many of us use off-road Treg style couplings.

I have seen a product at a local caravan supplier outlet (Maytow) which is a hydraulic jack with a gauge installed that will provide a visual check.
At $150 though, I decided to just go by "feel". If the vehicle tows without adverse symptoms, (does not buck up and down while travelling and the front of the vehicle is not pointing to the heavens), I reckon the weight is about right.
