I've bought a couple of LED lights from BrightLightAuto -

Interior LED lamps

They are certainly easier on the battery but brightness ??

Mine were not interior lamps .

Interiors may have reflectors to make them a bit brighter ??

Might be worth a look ?

Hi there. Yes, I've been there. My van has the usual 240v/12v overhead lights, plus a couple of 240v reading lights over the beds.
I wanted good 12v lighting with minimal power consumption. I couldn't find a simple globe substitute to replace the standard 12v incandescent globes.
A visit to Jaycar provided me with two 12v multi-LED downlights to fit over the beds, and a couple of 12v flouros, one in the centre of the ceiling and one over the sink area. The power consumption of these is absolutely minimal (I monitor the current closely, I can tell you!).
Hope this helps.
Regards

I replaced all my fluros with 12v light fittings with 48 led's from Bias boating; in Sydney. They are switched or non switched. They only use .3amp, the fluros used .7amp.

Hi Fergy

If you free camp and use battery power you will appreciate the power savings you obtain from LED lamps.

Most of our new lamps use less than 0.2A and are as bright as 20W Halogen. We also have new 18 inch strip lamps that will light up half your caravan.

You should choose carefully and it is always a good idea to buy just one at first to see how good they are before replacing all of them.

Ferg do you know what kind of bulbs you have now. I had G4 bulbs, 20W.

I replaced them with these

http://www.ledshoponline.com/G4_LED_bulb.htm

They are brighter and draw 0.08Amps instead of 1.5A each for the old bulbs and plug straigt in. I got the 6 LED ones but the newer 9 LED look even better.

Lots of other LEDs on that site too. I have found that the bayonett ones, as per tail lights are not as bright though.
