I am picking up a new
Tambo Cooper in early September and was wondering where others have mounted their batteries on campers like this. If anyone has any hints or photos, that would be great.

On
mine, on the 'running board' forward of the wheel. For weight dist'n behind would have been better but it wouldn't take 2 96 amp hour batteries.
The guy who did
mine got a custom made alloy box to take the two and mounted the charger inside with a 240v weatherproof socket on the rear of the box.
He's a fan of hybrid lead-acid batteries for this kind of application, claiming they're more flexible than other types; he also likes Ozcharge chargers (you have to have a lead-acid charge setting on your charger) as does my local 4wd gear specialist. They're a good deal cheaper than Cteks.
I can't evaluate his claims other than to day that over (only) two short trips and 6 months sitting in the yard (doh) there have been no probs.
