This is not intended as an add and I have no connections to the place but yesterday in our endless search for the "right" van we stumbled across a Roadstar small van with Toilet & Shower that had been modified to accomodate a wheelchair. Mr smart a (thin) hubby suggested to the salersman that perhaps we should buy it as I might need the wide isles shortly ( he cooked his own dinner last night) as there is a tax on those comments.

Anyway I would imagine there would be people out there who can only purchase this type of van and I imagine there would be only a few to choose from.

The yard is in the Lake Macquarie area if anyone is interested.

I reckon hubby got off lightly. Had I used those comments I doubt I would have seen the fist coming!

I believe the famine is mightier than the fist

His worst was when I said I might get a tat of bali in my "lower cheek"

His reply was - "there's room for the world"

Well there's no tat yet but he lost a few kilos in the weeks following the comment

Hi Di, is he (hubby) feeling comfortable in hospital?..lol Gawd, I would be feeling comfortable in a graveyard if I had suggested that!
On a more serious note, good post, not something I need, but there are others who might.
Cheers, Dave

This was first advertised in a Caravan book about a year ago and was built for a guy in a wheel chair Think it was a modified Daintree

It had a fold up ramp that he could manage on his own and a wheel in shower with a flat floor.
I think the benches wer lowered for him as well so if you cut hubby off at the knees he will be right at home.
LOL

Is that the one Have a look in back issues of Caravan & Motorhome I think it was in there.

Cheers

No it's not the one you describe

It has a expanda double bed and they told us it was built for a lady who has MS

I don't think a person in a chair on their own would handle it on their own

SWMBO is a nurse and caters for the needs of those in our community with special needs. On the lookout always for these type of things she saw this company on our travels and grabbed their card. I have no affiliation with this mob but I have a SWMBO who is really impressed with them. She spoke to the man who was renting one of their units and he was most glowing in his recommendation.

They are called Wheel About.

Their www is www.wheelabout.com and you can email them at tom@wheelabout.com

They have Wheelchair accessible motorhomes and caravans for hire. You can call them on 1300 301 903. Tell them you Saw it on ExplorOz and they might become Business members her and maybe offer some benefits to EO members.
