Good question, I think the answer is no, I used to have one of those EVO gizmo's and it did have the feature of only warning during school hours , Mate the best thing for you to do is stay away from bloody schools...lol
My guess is in the future it will be something that will be added to street Nav' units,

As I usually over tha last few minutes I have been thinking about your question,
I came to the conclusion that to be warned 24/7 is probably a good thing really, after all it's not as if your driving past a school every 2 minutes,
And that's why I love living where I do, NO redlight Cams, NO fixed Camera's , NO peak hour traffic, NO hoardes of humans, in fact there's not much at all, sometimes the Boys in Khaki set up a Radar trap on the edge of town but even that's rare,

Doug, i have a Uniden 501, had it for some years, great for walking and general directions but no maps, you know the deal.. It has school zones but only alerts in the 1 1/2 hours in the morning and afternoon.. Both the nuvi and the uniden 501 use the same data base for school zones because when i drive through the Army Base at Holsworthy( South West Sydney), they both tell me there is a school at the exact same point, but there is no school within miles. But i guess its got something to do with time settings and not the database, If Uniden can do it, surely Garmin can. They both have time settings on the units.. Michael

Doug, I guess its not a big deal but with the EVO and Uniden, at least you dont have to look at the clock if in the morning and afternoon just to check if in the school time zone,, I guess i'll live! Thank you. MIchael

YES ...which one do you need out of 27, the idea is to delete the ones you don't need and that gives a lot more space in the memory.

As stated in Garmin Website

1 Connect the nuvi to the computer with a USB cable.
2 Find your My Computer icon and double click on it or you may find it in your Start menu and click on it.
3 Double click on the nuvi() drive listed under devices with removable storage.
4 Double click on the Garmin folder.
5 Double click on the Voice folder.
6 Delete any unused voice language (be sure to keep your preferred language).
7 Return to the Garmin folder.
8 Repeat steps 5-7 with Text/Help folders.
