A
Sydney radio station is advertising Nulon Petrol Injection cleaner as a recommended action every 12 months. I have never used it but my Prado is now 8 years old. Does anyone on the
forum have any ideas about the cleaner?

I don't know much about the cleaners. People ask me if the stuff I put in my diesel does any good, I say, "
well it makes me feel good" ????

Hi Oz, my mechanic put that in my
tank when I put the 3.0TD Jackaroo in for a service. I had
water in the fuel, so the
tank was drained, cleaned and refilled. As it turned out, the service was too late to stop my problem, a stuffed injector.
I have put the Nulon in the
tank every 2nd fill, as advised by the mechanic, but its hard to tell if its doing any good or not, as the car runs
well now the injector repair has been done.
The mechanic only recommended putting the Nulon in 'till the bottle is empty' due to the fuel problem.
Like I said, hard to tell if it's doing any good or not, but I doubt that it would hurt. Maybe best to ask your service guy to make sure.
Cheers, Dave

I used the Toyota Petrol injection Cleaner in my LC100 series V8 got it from my local Toyota Dealer, I was hard to tell if it worked or not as the V8 has so much power...............it dident do it any harm..................and the mechanic said every 50,000kms give it a go to clean the injectors.

Try burning some in a teaspoon with a lighter, ( junkie style ), and watch the carbon it creates.
Waste of money

It does work, I have used it (Petrol Inj Cleaner) where I have had a car sitting it and it ran a little rough and after the Nulon product was used I noticed a difference within 200km's. I am currently testing Clean Power from Cost Effective Maintenance for a temperemental diesel injector in a Hilux.I have tried the Nulon Diesel Injector cleaner and it hasn't helped but I suspect my injector has something there.
With the cost of replacing Common Rail Diesel Injectors ridiculous, the search is on for finding a good diesel injector cleaner that might help common rail setups.

If you use a Quality premium fuel which already has injector cleaner you will not need it.
