Welcome to the wonderful world of quality control :-(
It is cheaper to repair the faults than to
check everything is right the first time.
My Rodeo ( Auto ) is doing OK so far It needs a new brake switch.
no leaks and nothing yet.
Do you know if your Colorado was made in Asia or South America ?

Ours was a demo model so I hope they found and fixed any faults so customers did not see them.

na im not havin a lend of yas all these problems are very common in the colorados what there was one in VIC ,
Cairns , WA all with clutch issues from what the dealer told me about the demos they take them down the coast to the holden driving place and get the dealers to try them all out and give em a floging as i was thinking about buying a demo but
yea...
when i get the report on what was done to the car ill write it upp

ooops US model is being made in Brazil that make more sense anyway.
I had an overheating light come the auto transmission on doing a run on VERY soft sand but no problems after checking it.
If it happens while towing I will add an extra transmission oil cooler
About $250, At the moment I have been told "NO MORE MONEY IS TO BE SPENT ON THE TRUCK !"
So the modifications have had to slow down a bit :-(

From what I have learned a lot of the vehicles built in Thailand....Isuzu, Toyota Hilux..are the Nissan D40 built there to not sure, etc have had a lot of clutch problems. Probably all built in the same factory. the clutches that is.

It would be interesting to know the percentage of Auto to manual gearboxes sold in new 4WDs in Australia.

All manual dual cabs bar the landrover now have bleep ty dual mass flywheels etc., and anyone who thinks they are going to tow better with one is kidding themselves imho.
We've got 4 colorados as work utes - all perfect so far except for incorrect factory wheel alignments across the board ???.
My diesel auto has towed my 18 ft fibreglass boat up fraser, tows a toyota bobcat around, and my builder's trailer - never had a hiccup.
It's not only manual holdens/isuzu's that have issues - d40 navaras need to be revved to get any torque at all and make a pretty pathetic option for getting a boat up a ramp etc.
Don't get me wrong, we bought two auto two manual colorados and they are fit for purpose so long as you don't expect them to tow heavy things in awkward spots. I've seen my neighbour shred a clutch on a patrol wagon simply trying to back his van into his driveway - doesn't take long and generally the USER has a lot to do with the longevity of the unit.

My 08 Colorado has a noise coming from the clutch at start up in the mornings, when the clutch is engaged noise goes away ,when it warms up the noise goes away clutch and gear change is smooth.
We towed over a ton of camper trailer from
Perth to Tassie and all around Tassie for eight weeks with not a problem just this noise at start up in the mornings.
Holden have replaced the clutch and the gearbox so far and the noise still exists, it goes back to Holden next week, they have been very responsive to this problem, just hope they can find a fix this time.
