On the way home recently I needed a pee and stopped off at a road side truck stop. After doing the business, I noticed a solar panel with a sign next to it with instructions.

It seems that some bright spark had come up with a clever idea to light up the dunny during the night. According to the instructions, you shine your head lights on the panel and the interior light comes on.

Regards

Kim

I wonder how long it will be before someone decides that he needs a solar panel more than the dunny does?? (;-))

No solar panel involved, just reflected light from ya headlights.
There's one north of Coonamble. Never tried one at night but if you have a decent set of flamethrowers on the bull bar, could turn the unit into a solarium LOL LOL.

Well I’ll tell you what Hairy....

Mister bladder gave us fair work out on the trip. The nights were colder than hell, and we did partake in a few relaxing medications.

LOL

Gidday Fred

Yes, we had one cool evening up there, but there were a few other places that required a fair amount of medication as well to get by.

LOL

yeh seen one of these on Picton road -- accessible from wollongong to picton direction , been there for years -- does not have a solar panel uses 2 mirrors at 45 deg angles to shoot light from one mirror to the next them into the top of the toilet

clever idea , unusual for a gov to utilize

If the light travels a path off two mirrors into the dunny, wouldn't it follow that in daylight use, it would reflect the dunny user to the outside?
Or is a diffuser used?

I would think that it has a plastic diffuser at the other end, much like household skylights.
