Well what do ya know!
Last year my hosts who housed me when I went to SA to meet Tom Kruse was Borgy and wife...
Well, what do you know.. I pull into Tamworth and I find out that Dave and his wife are also in town.
Have caught up with them and we are camped up on the side of the road, with a fire going, and the kettle on the boil...
Good stuff!
Will continue on my way in the morning to my dads and will pull up there tomorrow afternoon.
Temperature in Tamworth at present?
Bloody cold when you are on the side of the road!

"some people would camp with just about anybody!!!! hahahaha " I love it Bill, probably goes for both parties here hehehe ;-))))))))

The Borgy's will wake up thinking there should be heaps of firewood ready for the fire as someone was "cutting firewood" all night!!!!

Jo if you are chasing one, there is a female shower down at the Willow Tree truckstop (75km sth of Tamworth) on the New England Hwy. NO I DON'T USE IT!!!!!!!!!, I just remember it as Judy has used it a few times and they can be hard to find sometimes (female showers, that is!!) LOL!!!

Regards,
Trevor.

If it is the truck stop on the sothern approach to Willow tree, last time i came through there (2 years ago) the Truck Stop was closed for business.

Cheers Kev

No Kev, not the one on the sth side. I am referring to the one on top of the hill on the nth side of Willow Tree. It is open for sure, I know the owner quite well.

Cheers, Trevor.

Jo,

Although you can't get a scone in Scone, rest assured you can always have a wee at Wee Jasper........

And I don't even wanna talk about what you might get if you go to Rooty Hill..........

hahahaha

Jo, Mark told me ages ago he was just taking the wrap for all the snoring you got up to. LOL!!

What about the escarpment around Murrurundi, it is spectacular in the afternoon sun. Some of the best colours this side of the Kimberly if you ask me.

Cheers for a safe trip.

Sorry I hadn't forgotten ya's!
I pulled in to Dad's about 4.30 yesterday arvo after leaving Tamworth at 9am.
Coming out of Singleton onto Putty Rd is deceiving!
I went the way my map was telling me and nothing said Putty Road, all I kept seeing was 'Golden Highway'. 'Dubbo' and something else on the same sign. I don't wanna go to Dubbo! anyway, was freaking me out a little cause not one sign said Putty Road, so I turned back around and headed ten minutes back into town and double checked my directions.
The boiler maker was very kind and said I was going the right way, just keep driving. He mentioned Bulga, so I knew I was ok when I passed through, I would have been driving at least 45 min to an hour before I saw a sign saying Putty Road. I cannot have been the only one so confused by that! (shut up Trevor!)
I reckon a local needs to put up a sign.

I chose to drive the paj down over the GQ as I have mentioned before and like usual, she never let me down and never missed a beat. The only time she has let us down was Landcruiser hey Trev! $3000 later to find the problem and it turned out to be a $5 plug!
So it is great to see Dad but god it has ripped my heart out bad seeing him like this and it is hard to not let him see me cry. (his health and stupid freaken exwife who bleed him dry) So I will shut up on that or I will start!. My ten year old sister is so excited to see me and just rang me. Will get to see her on the weekend when she comes to stay.
So will leave it here for now.. will check in later!
