I'm not sure if others have had the same problem but I'm hoping a solution nis out there.

NATMAP works fine with Oziexlorer.

The last time I used the NATMAP Raster Viewer was when I had an older version of Explorer. Since then I have installed version 8.

Today I attempted to open the viewer and kept having the ActiveX Control information bar appear at the top, I'd right click, hit "Yes" to let it download files and it would go to the map screen, the same thing, the ActiveX Control bar and if I hit "yes" to allow the files the window comes up telling you "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close"

I'vew tried turning the Information bar off bit nothing has worked, any tips?

Gidday

This is no help with your specific query, I know, but I had a major problem with my computer after upgrading to IE8. Eventually after a long session on the phone to microsoft support we undid the upgrade and went back to IE7. That might be a starting point for you.

I think the problem was related to IE8 not liking the Norton antivirus software that I run. Given that a lot of people use Norton that is a fair problem.

Yes, might well be an IE8 problem - had problems before when first using IE7 from IE6. There is a lot of programming code in the HTML files, and the acceptability of this to the browser can easily change from one version to the next. Eventually a Natmap software upgrade was released, but it took some time.

You will probably have to reinstall the viewer from the DVD. You shouldn't have to reinstall the maps. Hope this helps.

Vista?

What should you do if you have problems installing or running NATMAP Raster in Vista?

* If you have Vista and you are experiencing problems installing NATMAP Raster the problem is with the file: msi_autorun.exe, which is called from autorun.inf. This is what produces the error message.

* Investigation shows that msi_autorun.exe seems to call a file called: "NatMapRasterViewer.msi", however, testing found that opening the contents of the DVD in Explorer, and directly launching the program "NatMapRasterViewer.msi" works OK on Vista.

* You will need to install by manually launching "NatMapRasterViewer.msi" from Windows Explorer (you may have to search for this file from the DVD).

Explorer 8???

Natmap Raster comes with its own viewer.
The one that comes with Natmap 2008 is Viewer 1.6 and can be installed from the DVD.

If you are experiencing a problem with IE 8 downloading ActiveX files I doubt it is associated with the Natmap application.

Try updating Adobe ActiveX directly from your current version without running Natmap first.
