...and the
boundary between "Top End" and "Far North Qld".
I don't know, I just assumed it would be the state/territory borders (ie. Top End would relate to NT:
Darwin,
Kakadu,
Litchfield, Arnhem Land, etc.)

My understanding has always been that Top End refers to the Northern Territory from around
Katherine or
Pine Creek north.

Im yet to go out bush somwhere I didnt like
whereever hat is becomes my favourite
every where has its attractions - some in your face WOW others more understated
the sort of person that wold vote in a poll like that would probabally be happier on a cheap flight to Bali soaking up the "culture"
so to answer your question the
boundary is easy
it would be included in the name of the tour package the voter went on
IE the top end explorer
or the red centre marvel tour

Hi all,
It is a complicated story, so I'll try to give you the simple version.... the TOP END "boundary" is a complicated imaginary line just north of
Alice Springs and south of
Tennant Creek. It was used to divide bureaucratic responsibilities within government departments. It began when
Canberra was directly responsibilities for health
services, housing etc. and is still used by Governments today. The "boundary" has been altered a number of times to suit the provision of
services, aboriginal customary groups etc. The term "the top end" although used by Aussies for many years (especially territorians), was reinforced after Cyclone Tracy, when people were prevented from entering "the top end" as people were being evacuated from
Darwin.

G'day Everyone
Amazing, but how is it that the
Pilbara did not make the "Best Destination" list.
It's not all in China ~ yet !!!!
I reckon the inland
Pilbara even with all the mining, is a brilliant destination, no question ~ but then again I'm very biased about the
Pilbara.
Hope you don't mind you my two bobs worth ?
Safe touring, in and to your personal Best Destination in the "Best" country on Earth.
