Most insurers offer a small holding or farm property policy that you can pick and choose what is covered, fences, shed, machinery house and contents, etc, we use CGU through a broker called Scott Winton and associates.
Make sure you cover yourself well, around here the weekenders and building sites are the ones that get targeted by the ratbags, Rhys.

Thanks for asking that question Paul

I have 37 acres at Mt Surround backing on to the Cape Bowling Green NP. For years I had left my old 22HP Kubota and slasher out there and visited a couple of times per year.

Last year bought a refurbished 28HP Kubota with FEL, ROPS, slasher, etc. With 48 hours on the clock there is no way I was leaving it at the block. Bought a tandem trailer and keep the rig at home.

Now I must check out some insurance. Didn't know this was possible. Thanks.

Paul
I live in Victoria and was burnt out during the bush fires earlier this year. I have 25 hectares. I am not a farmer and never have been. I had a Massey Ferguson that I used as a garden tractor and had a slasher for keeping the paddocks clean. The RACV insurance paid me for it as they classified it as a garden mower. But they told me to insure it separately in future. As for the rest of my losses they paid everything including the boundary fences without any problems. ($265,000 and that doesn't include the house) They couldn't do enough for me and I will not be changing my insurer for a long time to come.
