Hi guys,
Going out
Yunta way next kids school holidays. Read somewhere the
Yunta Caravan Park was closed has anyone any info on that. We were hoping to
camp bush but need a caravan park every now and then for the wife's comfort.
Cheers
Harry

If you need to stop in the
Yunta area there is great
bush camping just north of town. Couple of nice creek beds and some good flat country above one of the creeks.
Just take the Arkaroola Rd and then about the second left wind down over the creek, as you climb out you can cut off the road into the left and there is a nice flat spot. It is only about 5 min out of town and you could probably
camp there and use
toilets and showers at the road house or pub.
Then again if she wants comfort just stay in the pub. Nearest CV Parks would be
Peterborough or
Broken Hill.
Despite what others may say I like
Yunta, gateway to the
Flinders Ranges, it marks the point at which my first 4wd holiday really started and its pretty country in that area too.

I agree Duncs, I have a soft spot for
Yunta as
well. Turning right or turning left at
Yunta always leads to a good drive.

A group of us were stopping at
Yunta a couple of yrs ago and were told of powered sites ?? Turned out they were at the truck stop, a few power poles like in van parks ( don't know if they still worked)
Anyway we ended up staying in the
rest area straight across from the pub ( 6 CT's )..even had a campfire ( old railway sleepers piled up nearby )
What started out as a uneasy night soon turned into a great night ( except for the freight train passing at 1am )
