depends on what area you are from and where you want to take it....there are loads of great camper manufacturers about the place but sometimes the better ones will require some travel to obtain.
We recommend
TAMBO Campers as we bought one direct from
MElbourne VIC and yet we are from
Newcastle NSW. Depends on what you want to spend too...they were the BEST QUALITY for the $$$ and they are really
well built campers....we shopped around for a long long time and have owned a different brand of camper trailer prior to this one. You learn as you go what to look for and what to stay away from....definitely stay away from the imported canvas tops that you can fit to your own trailer types.....they arent that great for our conditions....as you would imagine
Good Luck and do your research....you will find heaps of other great posts on this
forum on this topic!

Have a look at the Outback Camper's Sturt model. Comes recommended, is light and has Alko
suspension, brakes etc for about $13,500.

Also a
Melbourne company.

We have used an O'briens offroad camper for the last 2 1/2 years on the road full time. We have taken it full offroad,
Mitchell Falls,
Cape york etc. They are
well built and great to deal with. They are in Dandenong Vic. Have a look here
http://obrien.obrien.fastmail.com.au/ We have no ties to them just very happy with their product. It is very quick and easy to set up And everything you need to live comfortably off road. Take your time to look carefully as there is a lot of junk out there.

We must have spent six months total living in the Cavalier. It is cheap and simple no bells and whistles thank you and easy to set up. The canvas is top quality and still in good nic after seven or eight years. the cover looks a bit like it spent too much in the north however.
I was underneath it yesterday changing a spring that took a lot of pounding on some of the worst stuff. A little bit of rust under there but not bad considering it lives in the front yard in the weather.
In keeping it simple, we use a few nylex boxes that we pull out at each stop which is not too hard; we are
camping after all.
We got a queen size inner spring bed which is the main thing and we use a big tarp to throw over everything and provide a canopy to sit under.

Have a Downunder camper built in
perth.Good quality and no dust leaks after a trip on the gibb.He makes and retails so the price is good as
well.Have not had to use any poles as yet just flip over 4 pegs to keep the bottom staight and thats it.
Graeme.
