Hi,
I intend to visit the
Litchfield NP comming from
Darwin via the northern unseald road with a 4WD car..
Does anybody know, in which condition this road may be in Oktober? Are there difficult river crossings?
Does also anybody know what the Marrakei Track (
Litchfield -
Kakadu )would be like at that time?
Thank you for your answer.

Hi Robby
I have done that road a few times, usually in the dry. There is a
river crossing that might come up to the wheel hubs. If the wet has set in I am sure they will have closed the road at the bitumen as you would not be able to cross.
Once in
Litchfield a great track to to is going out the southern end - 4x4 track only. Only open in the dry. Goes down to
Surprise creek falls - great place - see my member pictures.
Not sure on the Marrakei or do you mean the old Jim Jim road into
Kakadu. I have done that one several times too. Nice trip if you like being off road - couple of river crossings. Again if the wet is happening don't bother as you will get stuck. If you just want to get into
Kakadu on a time limit you are better to go in on the bitumen.
