Snaggles,

do an search of the Forum. This question is asked regularly. You'll find everything you need to know. It was also asked within the last week.

Cheers Mick

As long as you are able to carry it on the roof of your vehicle, or a trailer, they are a great investment and you won't be disappointed.

With the addition of a set of peak side panels, you will have an enhanced self contained sleeping and cooking/recreation area.

Top quality materials and very functional and they really are quick and simple to erect.

We have an RV3 which is big enough for the two of us.

Hi Snaggles
We have the RV4 and is the best tent that we have ever purchased. Like the way that it is so very quick and easy to put up. We have been in it with the heaviest of rain and did not leak a drop. We are 110% fully satisfied with our purchase.

Cheers

Stephen

G'Day snaggles,
We have a Rv5, Great tent but don't expect to get five people to sleep in it unless they are little kids lucky to get 4 adults in there. As others have said it needs to be carried on a roof rack as is 2mt's long.
GU RULES!!

Hi we have friends with a RV4, seen it setup many times, it is excellent apart from having to store it on the roof, if it's not on a trailer or boat trailer. Good size for 2 or 3 people. The add ons would be excellent. Very easy for set up, a bit longer than 30 seonds.
Very happy with it.

I went for the rv4 rather than the rv5 because the cgear multimat ground sheet is 2,4 wide and fits the rv4 exactly , even has the same d ring spacings . The rv4 is 350mm wide instead of 450 mm wide for the rv5 . The rv4 is getting heavy and the extra 3kg when trying to put up on racks makes a diffrence . There is only 100mm diffrence between the 2 sizes . The rv4 accessories are more common and cheaper .

We have the RV5. Great tent. We always use the fly as well to stop bird droppings and condensation. With the fly it takes a bit longer to put it up but worth the trouble.

When staying longer we use the peaked roof, sidewalls etc, gives heaps more room.

Ours goes on the roofrack and we have a roller at the back of the rack to make it easier to put it on. You soon get a system going and have it off the rack and up in no time.

It makes it easier when packing up if you turn the bag upside down and place the bag over the tent, instead of trying to lift the tent and placing it in the bag.

If you have the room I recommend it. Their service dept is also very helpful which is good to know.

The latest:

Advantages: very quick to put up, stable in strong winds as long as the wind is coming from the back and well tied down. With the fly very waterproof and better warmth/coolness; with the side panels and front, very roomy.

Disadvantages: Need to go on a roof rack or trailer. Condensation occurs if ventilation is inadequate - either make sure all vents/windows are open and/or use the fly. Heavy rains the tent will wick water - again use the fly.

Well made, well thought out. Only real sticky with me is that while the awning poles are supplied, the ridge poles are not and they are essential for the tent.

Don't know if we have the RV4 or 5, but we love ours too Great quality tent, only draw back is the length of it to carry (on roofrack or in boat) but it is worth it. Thinking of upgrading the kids tent to connect together with ours - have seen this done and creates a central communal area in centre.
