Hi Bundy
As you will be aware, Australia and 3 main time zones, excluding daylight savings.

The Eastern Standard time zone is + 10.00 GMT

The Central Standard time zone is + 9.30 GMT

The Western Standard time zone is + 8.00 GMT

I hope this helps you out

Cheers

Stephen

There is a fourth little known one.

Central Western Time.

45 mins ahead of Perth and 45 mins behind Adelaide.

Covers the area around the WA/SA border down south.

I'm not sure of the "proper" division for this zone but, heading east, I change my watch at Madura Pass.

You should tell the Australian Government about this time zone - it only knows of 3 time zones.

Broken Hill is on Central Time, even though it's in NSW.

Australian Time Zones

There are three times zones in Australia -

Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) is equal to Coordinated Universal Time plus 10 hours (UTC +10).
AEST is followed in these regions:
New South Wales (except Broken Hill) Victoria Queensland Tasmania Australian Capital Territory Central

Australian Central Standard Time (ACST) is equal to Coordinated Universal Time plus 9 ½ hours (UTC +9 ½).
ACST is followed in these regions:
South Australia Northern Territory Broken Hill, NSW Western

Australian Western Standard Time (AWST) is equal to Coordinated Universal Time plus 8 hours (UTC +8).
AWST is followed in these regions:
Western Australia

You don't have to change time zones. There's no one waiting at the border crossings checking that you have.

If you want to get to the local pub before closing, it's a good idea.
