I see this issue come up a lot of times.

I do not have anything special on my computer, I run Windows XP.

If you right click in the text/reply box you can select (tick) spell check.

The text box then becomes like a word document and all your typing mistakes will be revealed. Just Right click on the mistake and select the right spelling.

Cheers Tony

huh? Never seen that on XP.....tried it and the standard copy/select/paste etc only appears. You must be doing something different to achieve this.

It seems it must be Firefox that achieves this, If I open in IE i get the same.

Maybe I got a newer version :-)

Anyway - its a good tool and I like it lots - I can add a lot of words that are not usually in the dictionary.

In answer to Tonyb

There are already a lot of words on here that are not in the dictionary, without adding any more.

The mystery of xp spell check, not all xp are the same, I have an older hp with xp which was part of the operating system, and it as the best dictionary I have seen, much like Tony, would bring up all the words that where in use century ago, have a newer xp that had to install the software later and the spellchecker is next to useless, that is what I’m using now.

If you are an IE user you can download ieSpell for no cost.

This is not a Microsoft product and is different than the iespell available on the Google toolbar. (different spelling, different product)
If you google iespell you can select the download site.

I have found this product to be superior to anything else.

Bill.

If you are using Firefox on XP, try these:
(1) In XP Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages, make sure that English (Australia) is selected.
(2) In Firefox, install an add-on called English (Australian) dictionary. You can get it from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3099. Restart FF after the installation.
(3) After installing, you need to select the new dictionary. Just right-click where you are typing, make sure that Check Spelling is ticked, then select Languages and English /Australia.
