Hi all

Off to Wagga (Kapooka) this weekend for a Vietnam Unit reunion.
I would like to make the trip worth while and have a poke around the area- say within the triangle of Gundagai/ Junee/ Wagga.
Any recommendations for the area greatly appreciated !!

Cheers

Hi Signman,
you have the liqorice factory at Junee and the train round house, both well worth a visit. In Wagga you have to see and do, we have the free zoo at the Botanical gardens, a couple of museums and a bit more. In Gundagai there is really only the old dog on the tuckerbox, which is a bit run down at the moment, but I think over in Griffith this weekend there is the citrus festival. Griffith is only 2 hours from us heading West. Nice easy drive, and if you have kids there is the orange farms and lots of channels and irrigation, which is something different if the kids have not seen that sort of thing before. I dont know which way you are coming from, but dont forget the Ettamogah Pub just North of Albury. It is going to be a nice weekend here in Wagga too, better than the weather we have had all week.
Enjoy your weekend.

Just another thought, the RAAF Base at Forest Hill (Oppisite side of Wagga to Kapooka) is having a big open day on Sunday as well.

Signman,

If your in anyway interested in aircraft, head to the Temora Aviation Museum.

Have a look at http://www.aviationmuseum.com.au

If you want to do a bit of easy to medium 4x4 then Livinston State Forest/National Park is worth a look and a bit of a play :-)

Karen

I was in Deua national Park 2 weekends ago and I reckon I could have used 20 blankets and would still have been cold :-(

Here's a pic of my 2 mates 'huddled' around the Cobb for heat - it was blowing too hard for a fire

Do ya reckon they look cold?? :-)

Theres always Tumut, not far from Gundagai & just over a hour from Wagga.

Tumut 3 Power station is worth a look, not sure if they have tours though.

If able you could drive up to Yarrangobilly Caves, where they have electric BBQ's, a thermal pool & cave tours. The drive from Tumut past Talbingo, up Talbingo Mountain & to the caves is a really nice drive too!

There may be snow around too after the recent weather?

Cheers

There is lots of snow just past Talbingo at the moment, and then right over the mountain.
