If you are going to Tassie anytime soon and are towing a Van or driving a Motorhome there is up to 3 weeks wait to get on board the boat.
yeah I know you ask why ?????
They cant explain why so many are going at this time of year

Could always put it on the Toll Ship if in a hurray although you'd have to fly over & meet it at Burnie. (Don't usually take many passengers)
Cheers Craig.............

Perhaps they have taken one ship off for repairs - we travelled to Tassie in May 09 on the Spriit of Tassie 2 and travelled back on the Spirit of Tassie 1 the trip back wasn't too comfortable - it needed new mattresses, new chairs ect.

Cheers

I think you'll find that it's not so much the SoT but the island itself - you need to wait until a few grey-nomads have finished their Tassie Tours and head back to mainland otherwise you'll overload the island - it could even capsize should all the grey-nomads and their caravans, microwave ovens, hair dryers, TVs, washing machines, etc, etc, etc, all end up on the same side of the island at the same time. :-)

I go to Tassie every 2yrs. Best state in Australia IMHO for kayaking, 4wding and the best beer (any place that has Boags on tap has to be good).
