I changed and had problems (no site would load) so restored to ie7. Firefox has its own problems. I now only use Google Chrome because I've never have a problem with it and its fast.
Mike.

I have Win 7 running with IE8, Firefox 3.5.3 and Google Chrome. Chrome is the fastest, then Firefox and IE8 is better not used.

Hi dekiwi,
Been using FF for about two years, it's just my personal choice.
Not a big fan of MS IE.
With FF you'll get updates for it as the developers change things, and the same with the add On's, you'll get updates regularly for those add on's that you have loaded. You can customize FF to your needs, it's not bloated with crap.

Gidday
IE8 crashed my system twice. Had to spend long time on the phone to microsoft (yes you can ring them) best they could do was suggest that something in IE8's security settings was incompatible with my firewall or anti virus. I use IE7 for some things and Mozilla for others
Cheers
Rocco

I had problems with colours/shading at the top after installing IE8 on XP.
After searching the Microsoft knowledge base I determined there was no real advantage of IE8 over IE7 on Windows XP so I reverted to IE7.
I also use Firefox and find it perhaps a little faster (most of the time), but still like the familiarity and "feel" of IE7.
You can have both installed and run whichever one you wish and you can import your favorites from one to the other at any time.
IMO don't bother with IE8 which is really optimised for Vista.
Bill.

I have both but prefer firefox....its lighter runs faster and better and brings out new ideas long before explorer, eg tabbed browsing, resume etc ie8 (prerfferred ie7) is the backup as firfox doesn't work with all sites eg online banking can be a bit tempermental. Otherwise I just want to support a non-m'soft player who makes a good product...bill has eough already doesn't he?

Do they still make Internet Explorer?
It might be time to have a look at the available alternatives like Chrome, Safari and Firefox. Try 'em and see.
