I was reading through our RAA Mag today and the article on the new suggested road user charges caught my eye. It seems that suggestions have been made to increase the Fuel Excise and to apply Road User Charges in the future on top of existing rego and other charges.
Go have a look
here
and the quite a bit to Google

Thats a bit like the tax / road charge they but on 4WDivers traveling through South Australia.. LOL.
In WA they are talking about congestion tax or something there abouts, something they have in the UK.... I'm sure it will work in the least populated state...
Cheers
Richard

Don't bring that up again....lol I got into enough trouble then. This road tax will be Australia wide if it sees the light of day.

Hi Willem,
Add to that the suggestion from Bike SA that the speed limit on all major suburban roads should be reduced to 50 kph and residential streets to 40 kph (just in case there may be a cyclist on the road) and we will end up with a real beaut situation, not.
Maybe we are heading back to the "man walking in front of a vehicle with a red flag, or lantern" era.
Bill.
