Hi all,
as the title says, we have 4 mths in an outback jayco camper and 4wd to get from
Perth to
Cairns and will go southern route due to the time of the year (leaving mid Dec).
We will have a 12 mth old and dog with us. If anyone can give an advice on
places to visit, good caravan parks allowing dogs (there doesn't seem to be any) and
places we jsut HAVE to go to your feedback is appreciated...
thanks

Hi Sarah 1.When it come to caravan parks with dogs avoid the Big 4 as none of these will accomodated dogs. We have a small Maltese bleep su and she goes with us most of the time we are away.We have the current RAA (South Australia) caravan
park guide and they list all the parks you will ever need on your travells plus the dog friendly ones. You will be surprised, there are a lot of them around.
When in SA consider
Coober Pedy,
Arkaroola,
Flinders Ranges for some good 4x4 ing and natural land scapes. In and around the
Adelaide region there is the Barossa and
Clare Valleys and McLaren Vale for a drop of vino. Slightly further south is Victor Harbour and the Coorong (where Storm Boy was filmed in the 70's). Hope this is of some help. Enjoy you trip and safe travels

Hi and hmm, it will be hot, hot, hot from Dec to March, but we all have to cope with it. Try the
Grampians for 4 nights or so. Unhitch and go 4WDing on numerous tracks. At least you are within range of any cool southerly changes. 35 degrees one day then 15 the next. See pix in
Places... W

Hi.
We often go from
Perth to
Sydney in summer. It can be hot or it can be the best weather imaginable - you have to be flexible with your plans and be prepared to head south for cooler weather.
In addition to the above comments I'd suggest you include the
Esperance coast, the
Gawler ranges in SA, and the
Port Lincoln area. When further into your trip the south east of Victoria/NSW is brilliant (
Mallacoota, Eden etc) as
well as a visit to at least some part of the Victorian Alps.
As you head North you will be spoilt for choice. The coast, great dividing range and western plains are all rich with
places to visit. You'll have to do your homework!
Have fun.

Being ex-NSW just have to say you gotta really check out the NSW south coast. After all our travels it is still our favourite place. You'll have to do your homework about
places that take dogs, but make sure you stop at
Narooma,
Batemans Bay and all around the south coast. It is such a majic place.
