Can someone please help, I have recently purchase a Prattline low tow caravan. The van has been well looked after and just about everything works except for the 12v light. I am trying to find out where the 12v wiring comes out frm or is it connected to the 7 pin plug. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe a stupid question but have you checked the bulb
PIn 2 is the aux feed from a car on a 7 pin plug and should be a black wire.

Following Graham's point, the black wire to Pin 2 may be wired within the car (ie at the towbar connector) as either aux power or as reverse light power. Obviously you can check this without the van being connected.
So if you plug in the van, turn on the ignition and select reverse, then, one way or the other, pin 2 should be live. If you then remove the dome or cover to one of the van lights (the easiest on ours is the external dome light), you should find power when you toggle all switches in sight!! (especially switches with brown toggles).

Van all fixed now. I found the 12v wires going to the seven pin plug. It was going to the correct terminal a few wires joined it before hand. Removed all wires and started again and placed the 12v circuit on its own 7pin plugs with the fridge.

I would guess that the aux/lights would be to the "reverse"
Just stick 12V in there and see what happens or better still connect it to the car..

If the car is not wired for the extras ie 12v power the you will have to use another source. Barnray

I already have a constant 12v feed a the back of the car for a fan to cool the fridge. Fan was already there when I bought the van. If I could trace the wires from the 12v lights its an easy fix but as all the wiring is hidden behind the panelling its a bit hard.

Is that thru the correct pin on the trailer connection. You need to make sure that all the connection are going to the right appliance. Barnray

If the 12 volt supply is from the vehicle, the chances are your plug is not wired for 12 volt supply.

Good news, morton01. On my van, I found that the 'normal' wiring via the 7 pin connector was woefully inadequate to meet the needs of the fridge. Our fridge is the habitual Electrolux/Dometic 3-way, which won't even get out of bed with less than 10 amps current flow. I have ended up, like many others, with a dedicated 12v supply via Anderson plugs from the vehicle. I have a 20AMP fuse plus a 15AMP auto-resetting circuit breaker in the vehicle. The standard trailer wiring is amazingly under-rated to cope with a 15 AMP load. Have fun with your new rig.
