Last year my wife and i travelled oz with our five boys and absolutely loved it.I bought a new UHF for the cruiser and thought nothing of it until i got home. Our farm channel is 23 and has been for years and anyone who is calling in can get us on that channel. However, all the new radios won't transmit on 23.So now the UHF in the truck and header etc can hear but can't reply. The obvious answer is to change channels but i'd rather stay on 23.Is there anything technical i can do to remedy this?Come on fellas ,i know you can help me....

7Keads
Channel 22 and 23 should not be used and are for data only.
Channel 22 476.950 Simplex Data Only (No Voice - No Packet)
Channel 23 476.975 Simplex Data Only (No Voice - No Packet)
I suspect that your new radio is set that way.
I would suggest that change channel.
See
UHF CB Australia channels for all UHF channel details.

It's now illegal to transmit Voice on Channels 22 or 23.
Just switch to another legal channel i.e. not 5 etc

The new radios I have looked at recently (gme TX3440,IC-41S) have only had TX on 22 and 23 disabled in the programming software. It is not actually "hardwired"but you might have a hard time trying to get a radio
shop to enabling it for you.

ah Nivo, fancy running into you again.I'm starting to get worried about the amount of time youre on this site! As it turns out i WAS harvesting but i couldn't talk to the headers, they couldn't talk to the truck and it was getting a little annoying.Anyway, i'll work it out eventually.Hope the family are
well and no doubt we'll run into you in the new year.Cricket?
