Heya folks
Just in the process of getting a Yamaha EF2400is to run an aircon in my caravan, and after doing quite a bit of research, have come across a number of comments from people, mainly in the US, who run them on Propane. Seems a pretty smart idea, and they say it's an easy conversion, but haven't heard of anyone doing it here.
Anyone done this? I tried Yamaha web page, but their support seems to go to a FAQ page, where "all your questions will be answered"...except this one, apparently.
Appreciate the info
Scotty

Just came across a very nice test/review on the EF2400is. From the US 110V unit tho, but much would be applicable. Just for anyone who's interested.

Oh, and I just purchased mine yesterday for $1900...which is around $300-500 cheaper than anywhere else I've come across on the net, from Sydney Tools. Makes it cheaper than the Honda EU20i I saw at the Camping Show, albiet without the extras they offered there (note I say not better, just cheaper ;) and freight was just $20 Aust wide (which I found insane, since it's being sent via courier on a small pallet!). Hopefully get it shortly, so will advise. I know people keep saying "Oh, just bought mine last year for $1700!" Try getting one now for that...RRP is around $2500! Damn price increase and a half, when our dollar is so good. Oh well.

I'm not getting into the Honda vs. Yamaha debate, which is like Ford Vs. Holden...argue forever. I'd imagine they're both excellent units. However, running a constant 2000W compared to 1600W was the choice point for me, admittedly at a big weight penalty.

It's possible, there are mobs around who manufacture LPG kits for small motors like those larger open-frame petrol generators. I've been doing some research lately into running a motorcycle on LPG.

Ive got yamaha 3000 on wireless remote control looks good goes good Yamaha were not real interested.
Ive got a Subaru 3200iS on wireless remote control and gas and run the Forster fFishing comp one year on it for 8 days staight 24/7 and used 3x100lb gas bottles.

No one really interested especially Standards Bloody Australian and the review comittees and we are a bunch of over regulated people manipulated by beaurocracy and self serving technocrats with there head up their u no whats.

Dont worry we will just sell all our gas tom China and we can go back to rubbing 2 sticks together and living in caves.
