Have just read the report in the blog section. An excellent job for Michelle's first go at something like this. She certainly seems impressed with the vehicle. I can't wait for Robin's comment on the amount of stability displayed or not displayed on the accompanying video.

Yes Michelle also mentions the rear seats which is where I must decide to keep or remove them as they take up about 5 inches of space.

Problem is the modifications required to do this and it may be easier to just build the drawers on top.

Perhaps Jim has some idea's.

Interesting shot Derek.

We've been in Bali for the last two weeks so I'll have to get down to a dealer and have a look. From the shots in Michelle's Blog there seems to be a distinct lack of mounting points in the floor, although from your shot I can see something black in the top right hand corner.

The Drawers on top would work as long as the structure underneath is solid and we can find some tie down points to use.

Cheers,

Jim.

Yes at the back there is no problem as the black plate is quite strong as it hinges the seats. Up front we would need brackets that would bolt to the 2nd row seat rails, they are easily accessible and protrude quite far behind the 2nd row of seats. (200mm L type brackets / stands required). The 3rd row sort of floats in mid air with no support and would surly bend under a bit of weight.

The flat base area is 1080x920 and at 200mm draw height drops to 1080x875.

Email me and you can make a set for me.

Regards

Derek

Thanks everyone. It would have been ideal if David had been with me but we both couldn't make it. He has been given the opportunity to be given a vehicle for a test drive for a while locally when we get a chance so maybe he will comment after that. I intend to add the photos that I took soon too. One thing I wanted to do (and did acheive) was comparing the storage space of all the vehicles (prado models) against the 200. I actually raised the question if you could build the drawers on top of the seats (folded into the floor) and they didn't think so - no structural point to mount to. I asked if they could be removed - again no, just buy the lower end model. I thought that was a bit odd. MM
