My 2004 3L TD Patrol is spiking to 26lb boost, when accelrateing, it has a detronic chip & a 3'' exhaust system fitted.
The boost does not hold at this pressure, and normally runs at between 10 & 12lb.
Could this be damaging

You could have posted directly to the Forum with a Topic Title better suited to the question than the one provided by default via the Terms of Use Feedback.
No matter you can only learn by the mistakes we all make in life.

As to your question if you do a Forum Search on 3 Litre Nissan or ZD30 then I'm sure you will find the answer you seek.

Given the history of that engine high boost is something you really need to cure pretty damn quick to save pretty severe damage.

We put a boost gauge on our 2002 Patrol to ensure we did not let it reach high boost levels - nothing like up to 26. If it went above 20, reducing acceleration a bit cut it back a bit. This was when towing a heavy van and not towing alike.
