Can anyone recommend Depot Beach for camping? In particular, do the sites each have fires and do you need to take your own wood (fire bans permitting)?

Also what other options are there in the Sydney to Bateman's bay area. We want National Parks rather than caravan parks.

Depot Beach is one of the most beautiful spots on the South Coast. Great natural bush setting, shady campsites, clean beach, rocks, fishing, wildlife, walks and away from commercial distractions.

The sites do have fires. Not sure about wood - it's in a national park so you may have to either bring it in or buy it. Give them a call.

Book early if you are going over the holiday period.

I have friends that have been going to Depot Beach for Christmas for the past 5 years and love it! I understand that you do have to get in early to secure a spot over the Christmas period.

Green Patch in Booderee N.P at Jervis Bay is also a great spot!

There is also Pebbly Beach nearby which has a campground. Both are lovely places with walks to do and you can walk from one place to the other.

Not sure about fireplaces or wood but there may be restrictions due to dry hot weather during Summer months. I would think that collection of firewood is banned as it is N Pk even if fires are permitted.

Cheers Heather
