I was going to post exactly the same last night, that storm was way bigger than this one, in fact looking at now it was twice the length of this one.

Cheers Steve.

Gday Steve

Friends sold their boat over in Gove a couple of weeks ago after 15 years on the water in the Top End, to many breezes and age beat them . .

Looking at the charts, looks like the flights out of Jabaru will be good this year out over the falls . . . you might have to come home early from holidays . . .Kakadu . . . just the best place in Oz during the wet!!

Cheers

Lotzi
Just got home from Darwin today after arriving back in Darwin from Borroloola late yesterday, here in Adelaide River we had no power , and no mobile phone because the big storm last night knocked a tree onto power lines, it all came back on around 2:20pm ,I was in Darwin last night at Noel K's place and the whole house shook after a close lightning strike, Had some more rain this arvo and this is the size of the storm now.

Hi all,
didn't see this thread earlier because I had all the "eletrics" off in the house. We were copping lighting strikes near the house and it was a bit of a wild ride with winds about 100km hr.

Power & Water announced that they had recorded the highest number of lighting strikes in a single day - ever.... If I heard correctly 1,735 strikes. A few years ago they had around 1300 in a day. I certainly saw a few of those.
regards,
Fred B

Morning Fred

Just looking at the chart, the low is still anchored over Berrimah, dropped down to 1005, with 3 monsoon troughs running in to it.

Cheers

Gooday Lotzi,
It's been raining steadily all night with gusty winds. It is heavily overcast and pouring cats and dogs at the moment. Just sent the missus shopping on her own....... lol... I might not be smiling if she comes back soaked..... will have to cook apricot chicken and make banana bread to get back in the good books again... lol
