Heading to the South Coast in a couple of weeks. Will be staying at Mystery Bay for a while. Does anybody know of any other smilar camp sites in the area. Preferably easy access to the water (disability) for fishing etc, Safe swimming for kids. Will have camper trailer. Thinking about travelling South into Vic as well so camp site info along there would also be welcome. The cheaper the better.

Thankyou

Unless you have booked well ahead I dont think you will find much available anywhere along the coast over Christmas. It is peak season and apart from rates almost tripling, many places require payment up front to hold the booking. We are staying in Kiama early in the NY to await the birth of a grandchild and rates there are $45 p night powered. It is our least preferred time to stay in a van park however there wasnt an alternative unfortunately.

There is a cheap campground alongside the river and near the airport at Moruya North heads with flushing toilets and a boat ramp and you could try there. It is in Camps 5 but will also be very busy. Has a caretaker person to collect the fees.

Good luck - the south coast near Ulladulla is our home and a beautiful part of NSW but we avoid 'going to town' most weekdays after 9am during the Christmas hols so we dont get caught in traffic jams and have to spend ages driving around to look for a parking place!
