A Truckie mate has just bought one with a GMC Silverado tug. It is wired up for 240v as it has been a school display unit, & now refitted with original gear. He
would like the advice of those with knowledge, on the size & type /model of
onboard gennie he may need to add to the unit. He is currently assessing the total
wattage consumption likely, & is most likely to go diesel.
All suggestions gratefully received.......oldbaz.

Young Bloke,

Firstly it will depend on what appliances he is going to run so once that is decided, a genset supplier will tell him the kva rating he will need.

You can get very quiet diesel gensets and they are very fuel efficent.

On the down side they are heavy and like to be loaded, as glazing up can be a problem with light loads.

Have a good one.

8V92TTA on the governer, what a beautiful noise

Old Monkey, thanks for that. Can you name any brand of the quieter ones ?
I dont think the weight will worry him much, & I suspect he will have enough toys
hooked up to provide some load.
cheers....oldbaz.

Baz,
if you google quiet diesel generators I think you will come up with quite a few options and sizes to met all needs.

As Notso says, Onan have been around for many years.

Have a good one "Grasshopper"

Yep,
I think the the local Moobian's were glad to see the back of me.

That range killed a lot of auto tranny's when people were towing.

Will probably get moderated shortly. Chit chat and all that.

Old Baz will be getting fed up with all the response emails

Have a good one
