There was a thread on what boots to buy. I have done a search but nothing comes up.
Can I ask for your thoughts again, I need work and bush boots. In the past I have always bought K-Mart $90-00 boots but they are only lasting 12 to 18 months then they fall apart and split the soles.
HELP

Hi Damien,
I use Steel blue boots for work. They are pricey but they have lasted me 5 1/2 years of mostly light duty work (some strenious work).
John Bull also make a good boot.
Cheers Wilko

I prefer laced up boots, shoe laces are such an advantage

I ddin't see the immortal shoe lace post before it was removed and don't know what I missed - you are just rubbing it in Bonz.

Gees you blokes make it hard. Too many choices and a lot of running around to check them all out.
Maybe I should buy a set of Chinees safety boots,(thongs) lol.
Well I do have 4 days off this weekend, give me something to do eh.

X3 for Redbacks..great boots. I also have old Oliver (soles melt), new Oliver All Terrain (very confotable and
well protected for harsh terrain, with rubber coated toe and sides) and Steel Blue (very comfy but havent tested for longetivity).
Matt.

x4 for Redbacks. Got my last set for around $80 (no steel caps) and they're very comfortable.
I got ones without laces as prefer to be able to slip them on/off quickly so I can just kick them off at the door (and avoid trampling mud into the carpet) - lace up ones might give some ankle support though so your choice will depend what you want to use them for...

No choice, Scarpa's, won't get a better boot!!!!!!!!!!! Best quality Italian. Cost :-) top of the range are around $400. I love em, but still manage to kill a set every 2 years!
Have saved me many a twisted ankle.

I spent $20 at Big W on a pair of noname slip on boots two years ago. No steel caps. Don't want them. Light and comfy and so darned easy to maintain. Me! Clean my shoes! You better believe it. Want more of these. Wear them 90% of the time. You can have your pretty $200 runner etc.
I wish I could find some more pairs. These are extreemly comfortable. Been all over the place. Worn to a wedding and out to dinner (cleaned of course). Been through the samps and up in the snow and bush in the high country.
I wish I could find them again. If anyone sees any more please tell me. $20 best shoes I have bought in 50 years.

G Day Damien
I'm a cocky in the SW of WA my redbacks have lasted twice as long as any other boot I have tried apart from RMs I have big problems with my foot (Ive got one leg) and redbacks are the most comfortable boot I've ever worn and very easy to get on and off. Have never cleaned them (or even scraped the mud off them) and they have lasted 2 and a half years and still going strong through everything from mud, water, sheep sheet, wet superphosphate, oil etc. Love em
Cheers Big Nick
