Anyone using the new GME TX3340? I was looking at the 3440 or the iCom equivalent.
Recommendations?

Garytee,
Yes i have the unit mounted unseen behind the dash for security and just the extension block protruding at the side of the console which the microphone plugs into. When not in use the mike is removed and stored in the glovebox out of sight. At first i was concerned that the speaker which is in the GME unit behind the dash would not be audible enough when driving off road and that i should have bought the Icom or Uniden equivalent which has the speaker in the mike. After several trips now the volume and clarity are fine and if a real problem there is provision for an external speaker. The size and mounting set up are great for this radio and am very happy with it.
Cheers Mark

I've also got one. Had it installed before a recent
Simpson Desert Trip. I have a 100 series Landcruiser and it is tucked up underneath the dash behind the steering wheel. The mic cord is detachable and fits into a connection which is also hidden. Works a dream. No problem with sound levels.
