Hi all,
I know there has been many posts about what to use in a porta potty and I think we are going to go with the homebrand nappy san.
But is anyone able to tell us the ratios of water to nappy san? We bought our porta potty over 12 months ago but have never used it and can't find the instructions!!
The bottom tank is 20 litres, not sure about the top.
If someone is able to shed some light on how much water and nappy san in the top and bottom that would be great!!

Thanks everyone, so do I just fill the top tank with water until it's almost full? Or I suppose it wouldn't really matter because you could just keep adding to it.
Sorry I have no idea, I have never used one before!
Bucky, yes it's supposed to be very good from what I have googled and read on here, no personal experience though.
Thanks
Libby

Everytime you empty the bottom tank top up the top tank.
We try to empty ours after 3 days whether it needs it or not.
This process works fine for us without smaells and without the cost of branded chemicals.
Napisan is completely safe for septic tanks etc.

The two products most widely available that contain principally sodium percarbonate are Woolworths Homebrand Nappy Treatment Plus and Coles $martbuy Napicare Plus. Most other brands contain other ingredients and less sodium percarbonate.
We were using Bio Magic ($48 a bottle) and often only used the
toilet once before emptying as we only use it spasmodically when necessary. I tried the sodium percarbonate products and was even happier with the results. There was a musty odour with Bio Magic which we don't get now.
It is considered septic and long drop safe, and when burying in the ground, the slurry disappears quickly and leaves no harmful chemical such as the old formaldehyde 'preservative' type
toilet chemicals do. We have a large bottle of this from the previous owners of our van which we have never used and need to safely dispose of.
I like Peter's simple formula.
By the way Brent and Lib, your instructions probably told you not to use anything else but the brand specific chemicals distributed by the manufacturers - a bit like Toyota recommend using Toyota genuine parts not Ford.
