Sheepyard Flat

Hi all,

Am looking to take the kids up to sheepyard flat this weekend for a last bush trip away before school starts. Just wondering if anyone has been there in the last few days and how busy it is up there at the moment, especially with a potential long weekend coming up.

Haven't been there very recently, but it has been busy every time I have been there.
But there's lots of camping area, so as long as you don't mind people around you, there shouldn't be any problem finding a spot to camp.

Hi Jokar

Stayed there before Xmas just over the entrance bridge (regular camp for us) and it was less busy than expected.
Walking thru the Tunnel , water was low and a lot of fun.

Always worth the extra effort to get their a little earlier than the crowd though.

If you have a four wheel drive a good spot is Tobacco Flat. Over the bridge into Sheepyard,go up the hill towards Fry's flat (good camping area) before Fry's Flat take left up hill about 5 to 10 Km's to Tobacco maybe not as crowded & more chance of wood. If you just wish to camp at Sheepyard or Fry's very nice spot been going there for over 25 years on & off. Enjoy. It is a great base camp area for 4X4 trips to numerous places including, Craig's hut,the bluff, numerous huts & as mentioned a walk around the Tunnel is also good fun.
