thanks to all for your valued help. i might now laeve the van (1100kg loaded) at tibooburra longreach via the and do a day (or 2 with o/night) drive to cameron corner and then return back to van. then tow it to longreach via nappa merriup where i might get to drive in & see innaminka from there and the b/wills tree then on to windorah via the developmental roadsthen via jundah. I hope this would be a better choice. ANY COMMENTS.

Just out of curiosity, what sort of van are you towing? 1100kg seems awfully light for a loaded 16' van. Have you actually weighed it? I tow a very basic 16' Jayco
with only the minimum of internal fixtures and it weighs 1149 empty.

Possibilities -

From Tibooburra just go out to Cameron Corner and back.

Then tow van from Tibooburra up to Noccundra from here do a trip to Innamincka and the dig tree (mostly bitumen these days)

Then tow from Noccundra - Thargomindah - Quilpie - Windorah - Longreach
The only dirt bit is Thargomindah to Quilpie

Cheers

Alan

Are you saying that the road from Tibooburra to Noccundra is sealed? When did they do that? All of my maps show it as almost 250 kilometres of unsealed road.

Teege

Road from Tibooburra to Noccundra is dirt (good last time I used it)

What I meant was the road from Nuccundra to Innamincka is mostly sealed. Only dirt at the dig tree end as the bitumen has been extended past Jackson oil field.
