Hi, just wondering does anybody use a portable air-con(with window kit) in a caravan, and if you do, does it do the job. Thanks

This came up just recently on one of the motorhome caravan forums, basically don't waste your money.
Better off putting in a small domestic split system, cheaper and more efficient than a dedicated caravan system.

We have just spent 2 1/2 weeks in
Mildura with temperatures in the high 30's and 40's. Two of our friends have Jayco wind up vans and have put those units in. the definately bring down the temperature and make it bearable in the van. They don't cool quite as much as normal aircon but they do do the job.

We just love Dexter our portable AC ( that's what we call our boy cause he's like that robot from Perfect match)
We have a 16-17ft Windsor Pop Top and have just returned from
Tamworth
A couple of 40 plus days and the boy kept us comfortable
We chose one that we only use for
Tamworth and take out for the rest of the year as we don't use power anywhere else
They are getting a bit cheaper now - we paid around $400 4 years ago
