Just bought a Demo Colarado 4w4, 6000km on the clock, manual, petrol, 09. So far very impressed. Would like to ask any other Colarado owners if they know of anything I should be aware of (probably a bit late) and what sort of fuel consumption I can expect.
All info greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Couple of our Caravan Club members have them and reckon they are great.

They seem to be economical and plenty of grunt.

Nowhere near as good as my Triton though???? LOL

Croc,

Don't think you will be disappointed, they are a good rig.
Nothing I can think of that you need to be aware of mate.

Can't help you with fuel consuption of the petrol donk as I have the turbo diesel.

Bill,

Thanks mate.
I like the look of your canopy. What brand is it and if you dont mind me asking how much did it set you back??

Nah !!!!

Mine looks better than sandmans ;-) Check with ARB, you can have sliding or liftup windows.

Mine only looks like a Colorado.

Like Malcolm's, mine is also an ARB brand canopy.
I chose the standard height model as I didn't need extra height in the canopy and lift up windows on both sides to allow greater flexibility with access.
The standard height model allows me access to underground car parking, low bridges, etc.

I also selected an integral steel frame underneath the canopy to increase the load carrying capacity "on top" should I need it.

Malcolm and Sandman,

Thanks for the info, I like the look of them cause they match the height of the cab, less wind drag and all that. I like the idea of side access as well.
Can I ask you blokes if you have 16" tyres and what pressure's you run, tyre placard say's 200kpa front and 280kpa rear. front seems a bit soft.

Mine are standard issue: 245/70R16

When I first drove the vehicle, it was like riding on a crowbar. Each tyre was about 100kpa over inflated. I let them down to what the decal says and it now rides quite well.

I know what you mean, mine were way up too. I dropped them down and get a much better ride, but a mate I know who owns a tyre joint said to run them at 38-40psi all round for better fuel economy.

G/Day Croc

My eldest son works fot the Local Govt and they have over 50 in their fleet and they are really flogged all the time, they are Diesel Autos, and have had very little problems as yet, he purchased a Diesel Colarado himself just recently, and reckons it's performs as good as his wifes 2008 Toyota Prado.

Daza,

Thanks for the feedback, I could not imagine them getting an easy time in that situation, so that sounds good.
