I thought the
ExplorOz Shop would sell the new SPOT tracking device but I couldnt find it. Perhaps I am putting it in wrongly. Any help??
I also entered SPOT into the
Forum Search but didtn't find any references.
Can anyone give help with this search?
Rob

Rob,
The
shop doesn't sell them,
To do a search try "Spot Messenger"
Hope both you and Chicka are
well.
Cheers Kev

You are a PC genius Kev! I have been looking for a number of years for a prodigy brake controller but can't seem to score one. Could you please help me search for a place where I can get one. Thanks in advance.

As a recall has been done on the new SPOT 2 you may have difficulty in getting one.

Navigator
You can buy it locally but the retail markups are pretty high.
You can usually get one a series 1 on eBay for about $100AUD landed here in Oz. The units are identical. There is no problem with registration etc.

Hiya Bob
We are considering getting a SPOT device- and as you mention, the overseas prices seem attractive.
If we do purchase- how do you go about 'registering' the thing for local usage ??

Signman,
You just log into their website, give your details, pay via credit card - and the thing gets activated almost instantly.
It cost me A$186.10 to register it with the the tracking option (lasts 1 year).

Thanks Alan,
Mine is on the way. The dollar must have beeen good on that day coz it's costing $109.55 delivered !!
Now I understand there is no external power input available, so what do you reckon would be the battery consumption ?? And what would be the preferable type batterys to use??
Cheeers

David,
I bought
mine locally, at A$170. You have to pay extra to register it.
So for me total of A$356.10
It takes lithium AA type. Member Wayne reckons his lasted weeks on the original batteries. I haven't taken it yet on a really long run.
Cheers
Alan
