Hi all,
Saw a GU leaf rear end ute today that had a cracked chassis. It was only on the outside and from the bottom up.

There was also a crack at the rear of the axle as
well.
Cheers
Dave

Hi DSave,
Do you know if the owner had 'beefed up' the
suspension or was it original ?

It had a heavier leaf pack on it but basically only had a toolbox / mechanics set up on it.
He had just bought it from NSW and to me it looked like a 3wj patch up (full respray, guard not lining up etc) and flog from one of their bodgy car yards where they sell written off vehicles from other states. Those in
Sydney will know what I mean.

I came across a station owner in
Boulia, last August, who told me that he had a Patrol tray back and that it had cracked just behind the cab. He said it was stock standard with leaf springs. They repaired it by plating the chassis. He told me that it was not the first one to do that and I am aware of some others, too.
