does any where hire solar panels

Does anyone know of anywhere in Sydney that hires Solar Panels? I have searched the internet but cant find any.

While my auxiliary battery is quite adequate for the 2 or 3 day trip I do. I plan to be camped for about a week and dont want to go to the expence of buying a panel for a once off camp.

I would be looking for a 120 watt panel.

Any ideas?

Bugga ! I would have lent you ours- but I'll be In Tassie for a month from early March. And if there's any sun down there- I'll be using it...

Thats a very generous offer. Thanks for the thought.

We have been to Tassie in March and while you do get rain it seems to pass fairly quickly leaving plenty of sunny periods.

Hope you have a great trip.

Suggest it would be less expensive and you'll have far fewer hassles if you simply run the engine on fast idle for half an hour a couple of times a day (assuming that the aux battery is wired up to charge from the alternator.) Mightn't sound very green, but panels are big and awkward to carry, very expensive if you have a mishap, there is a learning curve, and you'll be pretty unimpressed with their performance if the weather's not right! All that said, we carry 140W of panels and wouldn't be without them. For a 1 week expedition though, I wouldn't embark on solar.

It's not just a matter of borrowing a panel you will also need a regulater as well.
