Can someone point me towards a good custom trailer manufacturer in Sydney – I want them build me a tough box- type 4wd trailer that can handle off road and corrugations. I’ll be towing it behind a defender 110 so want same wheels and width. I’m going to attach my own roof top tent to it, so I don’t want a camper trailer as such.
Cheers, Scoota

Scoota - we purchased one a number of years ago and it came from Holiday Trailers - very well built off road trailer. Looks like it was built for a campertrailer as it has a gas ring on the side behind the wheel.

Google holiday trailers - we purchased ours on a weekend and they did rego and we drove home to the bush.

Jim at Holiday is one of the better trailer builders in Sydney and he will build a trailer to the specs that scoota is seeking.

I was a component supplier for ALKO and if I had to chose 2 Sydney builders for this job it would be Tony ATA or Jim at Holiday.

If Scoota can get to Bowral then Dean trailers also make trailers to spec they are however expensive too, their customers are Govt and semi Govt bodies mostly.

Cheers Colin.

Hiya scoota,
I have looked at Ace campers in Kirrawee before and have to say they appear to do a good product,
No connection to this company,

After much research I went to Quality Custom Trailers at Minto. Bought a 7 by 4
offroad model, high sides, swinging tailgate, gas & jerry holders, front mount
spare, 5 leaf shackle springs, 6 stud L/c hubs, all steel chequer plate, treg,
unbraked, weight 340KG. Very amenable Indian chap who will change anything
to your needs & is very negotiable if you have folders. Cost me about $2k in 07.
I added a camper top & the trailer has done 25k of mostly outback travel. Total
trailer problems...none, $16 for new shackle bushes. His parting words were...
anything break, you bring back & I fix for nothing. I dont expect to take him up
on his offer. cheers...oldbaz.
